Snowflakes Over Holly Cove

As the snowflakes start to fall, Holly Cove welcomes a new tenant to the beautiful old cottage on the beach…

For lifestyle magazine journalist Tia Armstrong, relationships, as well as Christmas, have lost all their magic. Yet Tia is up against a Christmas deadline for her latest article ‘Love is, actually, all around…’

So, Tia heads to Holly Cove where the restorative sea air and rugged stranger, Nic, slowly but surely start mending her broken heart.

Tia didn’t expect a white Christmas, and she certainly never dared dream that all her Christmas wishes might just come true…

Set in Caswell Bay on the stunningly beautiful Gower Coast, the cottage nestles amid the limestone cliffs and the woodlands, where the emotions run as turbulently as the wind-swept sea.

As cosy as a marshmallow-topped mug of cocoa, fall in love with a heart-warming festive story from the bestselling author of The French Adventure.

My Review

Tia is a journalist for a lifestyle magazine. She needs to restore herself both mentally and physically after tragedy strikes and her boss decides to send her off on a six-week writing project to Caswell Bay on the Welsh coast. Beach View Cottage is an idyllic and remote rented cottage with a sea view. Tia can spend her days writing and taking long walks on the breathtaking beach right next to the cottage.

Lucy Coleman describes the stunning location of Holly Cove to perfection. If you close your eyes you can almost feel the crisp, salty, sea air on your face.

Tia makes friends with people from the local village and starts to settle into her completely new way of life. It’s clear that the other residents have secrets, they seem guarded at first but gradually their stories unfold.

The assignment that Tia has been given is to explore different types of relationships and discover how people like to celebrate Christmas. Tia finds herself reminiscing about Christmas’s past, happy family times and people who are no longer around.

It was inspirational that Tia didn’t shy away from discussing other people’s happiness even though the subject caused her personal heartbreak.

I loved the way that Beach View Cottage was decorated for Christmas with tree branches, holly, mistletoe, and driftwood collected from the beach and woods. Each garland handcrafted with love by visitors to the cottage.

Snowflakes over Holly Cove is an amazing novel about heartache, loss, regeneration, and hope. There are at least two twists and a suspenseful conclusion, just the right amount of romance and lots and lots of snow!

It is an emotional and uplifting read and a wonderful reminder of the true spirit of Christmas.
